Floor Machines
Industrial and commercial floor sweepers and scrubbers have operated from electric drive and cleaning systems for many years. Until recently, however, all of these products used large ferro-resonant chargers for off-board charging in a utility closet or maintenance room. With the development of sealed, high frequency chargers that can easily mount directly on a sweeper/scrubber, Delta-Q has gained rapid acceptance with many of the top North American floor machine manufacturers.
The delivery of onboard charging capability to OEMs in these segments has provided tremendous benefit to their customers, who are freed from the need to return vehicles to the same location for every charge, and the potential movement or theft of the unattended off-board charger. The intelligence built in to every Delta-Q charger manages the charge cycle to the specifications of the battery manufacturer, ensuring reliability and longevity.
Major improvements in battery technologies and alternative power sources are finding their way on to floor machines, and Delta-Q power management products will play a key enabling technology role in managing, charging and controlling the power source. Because Delta-Q chargers can be field-updated, OEMs are able to implement new battery types and chemistries quickly and easily.
