As a product-driven company with a focus on harnessing our power of human innovation, we work hard to design and sell cutting-edge products, while pushing technological boundaries to make giant leaps forward. We work in cross-functional teams and are fortunate to have some of the best and the brightest in the industry. In addition to our full-time positions, we pride ourselves on partnering with local universities to offer exciting internships for engineering students.
On a typical day at Delta-Q, you will see members of our engineering team going over disassembled prototype chargers, looking for possible improvements to their thermal design or mechanical construction. Our open concept offices allow immediate collaboration between co-workers. These engineers are working to improve our products according to one of our key values—persistence. That persistence shows itself in our elegant designs, such as the single printed circuit board (PCB) in the new IC650 Charger. An engineer or technologist at Delta-Q will face the challenge of power electronics design to maximize charge efficiency and longevity, sealing the charger, as well as implementing new features to benefit our OEM customers.
You might see our software team in their weekly scrum, charting progress on the latest sprint of development work. Multi-colored pieces of paper cover the wall, outlining the immediate and future tasks to develop and test our latest software builds. Embedded software plays a major role in charger performance, outlining how the charger will behave in different scenarios. This adaptability is crucial to creating a product that can be used worldwide and with different battery manufacturers and chemistries.
Our sales and product management groups bring expertise in the markets and machines into which Delta-Q chargers are installed. Selling Delta-Q products to OEMs requires understanding our products’ technical details and being able to match up with customer needs and expectations. Sales people will often be visiting customers to talk about the design of their next generation products. Many of our employees in these departments come from an engineering background or have technical sales experience.
